Child Safety Standards
Last updated: October 2026. Applies to the MuslimahFirst app (developer: Ibis Labs).
MuslimahFirst is an adults-only Muslim marriage application (18+) and is fully committed to the safety and protection of children. We have zero tolerance for child sexual abuse and exploitation (CSAE), including child sexual abuse material (CSAM), grooming, or any content that sexualises a person under 18.
Age requirement (18+ only)
MuslimahFirst is strictly for users aged 18 and over. Every member gives a date of birth at registration, the server refuses any date of birth under 18, and our store listing and content rating restrict the app to adults. If an account is reported as possibly under 18, or our team has reason to doubt an age, it is paused straight away and can only continue after a person on our team approves a selfie age check. Any account we find to belong to a minor is removed.
Prohibition of CSAE content
Any content or behaviour that sexually exploits or endangers a minor is strictly prohibited and results in immediate account termination. We keep the evidence we hold (the text of the reported messages and the profile as it was) and report apparent child sexual abuse material or exploitation to the Australian Centre to Counter Child Exploitation (ACCCE, run by the Australian Federal Police) and to the National Center for Missing & Exploited Children (NCMEC) CyberTipline, and we cooperate with law enforcement.
Reporting mechanisms
Users can report a profile or message at any time using the in-app Report button (six report categories, including "fake profiles" and "underage users"). A report hides the account from Discover and notifies us, and every report is reviewed by a person — underage reports first. When you report someone you have chatted with — from the chat or from their profile — a copy of the text of the most recent messages in your chat (and links to any photos or voice notes) is kept with the report so a person can see what happened. Any report, including one made from a profile, also keeps the likes, reactions and like notes the two of you sent each other. Our moderators cannot open chats that have not been reported. You can also report a child-safety concern by email:
support@muslimahfirst.com — subject line "Child Safety Report".
Moderation & verification
Every member must give a date of birth, and the server refuses any account under 18 — this is enforced in our security rules, not only in the app. A report of an underage account puts it on hold automatically, before any person sees the report: it is hidden from Discover and cannot message or call. We are notified straight away and review underage reports first. Accounts operated by, or targeting, minors are removed, and the evidence is kept and reported to the authorities named above. Verification by selfie is available and optional; look for the badge rather than assuming every member has one.
Compliance
MuslimahFirst complies with applicable child-safety laws and regulations and with Google Play's child safety standards policy. We cooperate fully with law enforcement investigating child exploitation.
