How we write
The guides on muslimahfirst.com are written to help Muslims seeking marriage make careful, well-informed decisions. This page explains who writes them, how we check what we publish, and what to do if you find a mistake.
Who writes our guides
Every article is written by the MuslimahFirst Editorial Team, a small team at the company that runs the MuslimahFirst app. We publish as a team rather than under individual names. We never invent author personas: you won't find a made-up "sheikh" or "scholar" byline on this site.
Some drafts are prepared with the help of AI writing tools. Every page is edited and checked by a person on our team before it is published, and the team is responsible for what it says.
How we check facts
- Qur'an and hadith. When we refer to the Qur'an or a hadith, we aim to name the source so you can look it up yourself, and we describe what a text says rather than telling you how it applies to you.
- Where scholars differ, we say so. On questions such as the wali or the mahr, we set out the main positions of the schools of thought (Hanafi, Maliki, Shafi'i and Hanbali) instead of presenting one view as the only one.
- Our own app. What we say about MuslimahFirst is checked against the app as it works today. When a feature changes, we update the pages that describe it.
- Other apps. Comparisons use each app's own public information, such as store listings, websites and company records, and they are dated because features and prices change. We are the company behind one of the apps compared, and every comparison page says so.
- Dates. Each article shows when it was published or last updated.
- No member numbers or testimonials. We don't publish member counts, match counts or success stories.
Religious pages are general information, not fatwa
Our articles on topics such as the wali, nikah, mahr and istikhara are general introductions. They are not fatwa, and we don't issue religious rulings. We are not scholars, and our articles are not currently reviewed by a named scholar. For your own situation, ask a knowledgeable scholar you trust, or the imam at your local masjid.
We correct mistakes
If you spot an error, such as a wrong reference, an outdated feature, or a description you think is unfair to another app, email support@muslimahfirst.com with the page address and what is wrong. We read every report. When we fix something significant, we update the page's date and record the change in the log below.
No paid placements
Nobody can pay to be included, ranked or recommended in our guides or comparisons. We don't take payment from other apps and we don't publish sponsored posts. When an article mentions MuslimahFirst, it is clearly our own app.
Corrections and major updates

- 5 October 2026: Added team bylines and this page.
