MuslimahFirst is built on trust. We collect only what we need, we never sell your data, and you can request deletion of your account and data at any time.
1. Who We Are
MuslimahFirst is a halal Muslim marriage app where women message first. We are operated by Hassan Foreman, ABN 50 686 098 448, based in Australia.

2. Information We Collect
We collect the following types of information when you use MuslimahFirst:
- Account information: Email address, password (encrypted), display name, gender, and date of birth.
- Profile information: City, country, sect, practice level, education, occupation, height, marriage intentions, deen prompts, and photos you choose to upload.
- App activity: Swipes, matches, messages, and in-app behaviour. This is used to power matching and is not sold or shared with advertisers.
- Device information: Push notification tokens, so we can send you alerts about matches and messages.
- Referral information: If you joined via a referral link, we record the referral code to credit your referrer.
3. How We Use Your Information
- To provide and improve the MuslimahFirst matching service.
- To show your profile to compatible potential matches.
- To send push notifications about matches, messages, and app activity.
- To moderate content and maintain a safe, respectful community.
- To communicate with you about your account, policy changes, or support requests.
4. Information Sharing
We do not sell your personal data to anyone. We may share limited information with:
- Other users: Only the profile information you choose to display (name, photos, bio, location, etc.). Your email address is never visible to other users.
- Firebase / Google: Our database and authentication provider. Data is stored on Google's servers in accordance with their privacy policy.
- Expo: Used for push notifications. Only your push token is shared.
- Law enforcement: If required by law or to protect the safety of our users.
5. Your Rights
You have the following rights regarding your personal data:
- Access: Request a copy of the data we hold about you.
- Correction: Update incorrect information via the Edit Profile screen.
- Deletion: Request full deletion of your account and all associated data. Email us at privacy@muslimahfirst.com and we will process your request within 30 days. You can also delete your account in-app — see Delete your account.
- Opt-out: You can disable push notifications at any time through your device settings.
6. Data Security
We use Firebase (Google Cloud) to store your data securely. Firebase enforces strict security rules that prevent users from accessing each other's private information. Passwords are encrypted and never stored in plain text.
However, no system is 100% secure. We recommend you do not share sensitive personal information (phone numbers, addresses, financial details) in messages on the app until you feel fully ready to do so.
7. Children's Privacy
MuslimahFirst is only for users aged 18 and over. We do not knowingly collect data from anyone under 18. If you believe a minor has created an account, please contact us immediately at privacy@muslimahfirst.com and we will remove the account. See also our Child Safety Standards.
8. Data Retention
We retain your data for as long as your account is active. If you delete your account, we will remove your personal information within 30 days. Some anonymised, aggregated data (such as usage statistics) may be retained for longer for analytics purposes.
9. International Users
MuslimahFirst is operated from Australia. If you access our service from outside Australia, your data may be transferred to and stored in Australia and on Google's international servers. By using our service, you consent to this transfer.
10. Changes to This Policy
We may update this Privacy Policy from time to time. We will notify you of significant changes through the app or by email. The "Last Updated" date at the top of this page always reflects the most recent version.
