Who can use MuslimahFirst?

MuslimahFirst is a halal Muslim marriage app for adults aged 18 and over who are seeking marriage in accordance with Islamic values. Both men and women are welcome, though the experience is designed with women's dignity and agency at its centre.

Why can't men send the first message?

This is the core philosophy of MuslimahFirst. After a mutual match, only the woman can initiate conversation โ€” she has 24 hours to say salaam. This gives sisters full control over who they engage with, reducing unwanted messages and creating a more respectful environment.

Is MuslimahFirst free?

Yes โ€” MuslimahFirst is completely free to use. You can create a profile, discover matches, like profiles, and send and receive messages without any subscription. We believe finding a halal spouse should never be behind a paywall.

What is the Wali Portal?

The Wali Portal is an optional feature that allows female members to invite a male guardian (father, brother, uncle, or other trusted male relative) to oversee their matches and conversations. The wali receives read-only access via a secure private link. This feature is entirely optional and designed for sisters who wish to involve their guardian in the marriage search process, in line with Islamic tradition.

How do I delete my account?

You can delete your account at any time from within the app: go to My Profile โ†’ Settings โ†’ Delete Account. Your profile and all data will be permanently removed within 30 days. If you experience any issues deleting your account, email us at support@muslimahfirst.com and we will delete it manually. See also Delete your account.

How do I report a fake profile or inappropriate behaviour?

Tap on the profile in question, scroll to the bottom, and tap "Report Profile". Select the category that best describes the issue. Our moderation team reviews every report. You can also block users instantly โ€” blocked users will disappear from your Discover and matches immediately.

My photos aren't showing โ€” what's happening?

By default, MuslimahFirst hides photos until a mutual match is made (Photo Modesty feature). This protects your privacy. Once you and another user match, photos become visible. You can also change your photo visibility setting in Edit Profile.

I didn't receive my match notification

Please ensure notifications are enabled for MuslimahFirst in your phone settings (Settings โ†’ Notifications โ†’ MuslimahFirst). If the problem persists, log out and log back in โ€” this refreshes your push notification token. Still not working? Contact us at support@muslimahfirst.com.

I forgot my password

On the login screen, tap "Forgot Password?" and enter your email address. You will receive a password reset link within a few minutes. Check your spam folder if you don't see it. If you still can't access your account, contact us and we'll help.
